    Appalachian State University's Office of Arts and Cultural Programs presents vibrant and world-class arts programming through a diverse mix of music, dance, theatre, film and visual arts events that enrich the cultural and intellectual landscape of our campus, community, and region. The Schaefer Center Presents series (Sept-April) takes place throughout the academic year and offers memorable performance experiences and related educational and outreach activities. An Appalachian Summer Festival (held every July) has been named one of the ''Top Twenty Events in the Southeast'' by the Southeast Tourism Society.
