Our story starts long before my time when dad visited the area as a child with his family and later when he and his brother John were in the first class of boys when the Plumtree School merged with Lees-McRae in the fall of 1927.
I grew up hearing dad's tales of his early days in the mountains, visited the mountains with dad and Uncle Johnny in the mid-50's and made our first family visit in the mid-60's, it only took that one visit to keep us coming back until we came to stay and try our hand at the hospitality business in 1991. We hope that you will enjoy the area as much as we have over the years.
Our Hidden Valley Motel address is Boone, but our physical location is in the beautiful Foscoe valley about half way between Boone and Banner Elk. We are centrally located to the area attractions and in season you can enjoy birds, blooms and butterflies in our large garden, there are also a couple of antique Packards for those with mechanical interest.
We're a small mom and pop business, Maxine & I and joined this year by our daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & Duran Collins.
We try to provide clean, attractive lodging and hope you have an enjoyable visit. Due to our own health issues all rooms are non-smoking and no animals on property.
