We recruit therapeutic foster parents for Avery County, NC including Banner Elk, Newland, Elk Park, Beech Mountain, & Sugar Mountain, NC as well as folks in all the communities & hollars.
Founded in 1888, Alexander Youth Network provides mental and behavioral health care to children of western North Carolina.. Alexander offers 12 different mental health programs and services in western North Carolina including Avery & Watauga counties.
Last year, Alexander and its affiliated agencies served over 10,000 children and families.
Alexander Youth Network is a multi-agency organization providing mental and behavioral healthcare, crisis support services, housing assistance, and skill-building programs to support children and families of North Carolina. Through our dynamic teams who work for Alexander Youth Network, The Relatives, Youth Focus, and Alexander Children’s Foundation, we are able to provide children, young adults, and families with the resources they need and stable environments to thrive.
- Alexander Youth Network and its affiliates provide over 10,000 services through our array to children and young adults ages (5-21) as well as families in three categories: outpatient, residential, and community-based services. .
- Alexander is a 501c3 North Carolina nonprofit corporation and receives funding from fee-for-services as well as from contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
- The U.S. Surgeon General estimates that 1 in 5 children suffer from a mental health disturbance.
