Our Inspiration

In 2019, Maria Martinez Sylvester moved to Newland, NC and began to notice the need of the local children for adequate basic necessities. Along with the help of family and life long friends she started ''Anne's Kids'' as way to honor her mother and meet the needs of her community. Working hand in hand with the schools we seek to bridge the gap for students with economic needs by providing the opportunity to donate in a convenient manner.


We are Anne's Kids, sisters with a dream, to give all children the security and excitement of going to school fully prepared with all that they need, regardless of their circumstances. Whether it is crayons or a new favorite sweater, every child deserves to feel special and we are committed to making a difference. Anne's Kids has partnered with the local school system to meet the individual needs of the children in that Avery County school district. Whether you want to provide a monthly monetary donation, a one-time donation, or if you prefer to shop yourself and ship to the children - our goal is to make it as easy as possible for anyone to help children in need. Anne's Kids is a public charity with exempt status under IRS code Section 501 (c) (3).
