About Us

We realize Christmas trees can be found everywhere but these are FRASER FIR TREES, The Cadillac of trees and offers a special experience that can’t be found elsewhere!

Elk River Evergreens is a family-owned and operated Christmas tree farm located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. Brothers-in-law, Gary Edwards and David Ellis, planted their first crop of 5,000 Fraser fir Christmas trees in 1975. Today, the operation includes over 400,000 trees growing on 12 different farms in the western North Carolina and east Tennessee area.

In 2002, Elk River Evergreens added a choose ‘n cut operation to their primarily wholesale business. Located on an old apple orchard near the North Carolina and Tennessee state line on Highway 19-E, Orchard Farm quickly became a prime attraction for families who wanted to harvest their own Christmas tree.

We have two farms available for your families to explore to find the perfect Christmas tree. We believe having a real Christmas tree is a special part of the season and a great way to make a family tradition. Our customers find more than just a convenient location to pick a Christmas tree. They find a family-owned and operated business with friendly, hard-working staff who make every effort to help them find the trees, wreaths, roping, and décor they need.

Christmas Trees

Our primary product is the Fraser fir Christmas tree. We sell them directly to the public at our Ellis Family Choose ‘n Cut Farm in Elk Park, North Carolina. Tree heights range from five to 18 feet with thousands of choices available.
